Distant Suns is a planetarium for the PC. It contains loads of information''s, pictures
and video clips about the wonders of the heaven.
The first thing to be shown, is "The Big Picture", which is a view of the entire heaven, as it
is "right now". From there, you can enter the main window of the program, the
planetarium, which will then show you stars and planets from various angles.
The main part of the program, the electronic planetarium, is much more flexible and
interactive though. You have the possibility to observe the night sky from different angles
and at different hours.
For example, you can centre the Earth, the Sun or the Moon at any given moment. Time
as well as geographical positions can be set and you can also move the constellations
back and forth.
Simple Navigation
You can get information to most of the objects by a single click and in some cases you
have the opportunity to get additional information''s, pictures and video clips.
By holding down the right mouse button, the heaven can be turned the way you like. The
mouse is also used to zoom in and out.
If you form a square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner while holding down the left mouse button, you zoom in on what''s inside the square.
If you form a square the opposite way - from the lower right corner to the upper left corner,
all objects inside the frame will be zoomed out.
Additionally, you always have access to a navigation tool in a separate window. From
there you can place your aspect like you desire in a three-dimensional model.
Lots of functions
From the menu, you have access to a countless number of functions, which relates to which objects is to be presented and how it is done. For example, you can choose to have names and constellation outlines shown or you could concentrate on planets and comets which orbits our Sun. You can free download Distant Suns 5.3 CD now.
